"Uniprocessor-only" Celeron niet gemankeerd!

Een positief bericht bij The Tech Zone, daar hebben ze zo'n Celeron met "Uniprocessor-only" stickertje op de kop getikt en het ding blijkt niet SMP-gecastreerd te zijn!

Yesterday, many sites reported that Intel has disable SMP for Celerons because the box that these Celerons ship with says "For Uniprocessor Systems Only"

Well, I got two boxed celeron 500's here with that for uniprocessor only label on them. They work just fine in the BP6, and are both currently running at 585Mhz rock solid (78mhz bus) and I will try for an even 600 shortly.

It seems that the "For Uniprocessor Systems Only" label is just that. A label.

Zouden ze dat alleen doen om "domme" <img src=http://192.87.219.67/~femme/wot/forum/interface/smilies/wink.gif width=15 height=15> klanten ( en winkeliers) ervan te weerhouden om de BP6 te halen / leveren ???
Dan is dit wel een heeeeeeeel zielige actie...

Misschien is het oude voorraad in een nieuwe verpakking ?

logo voor Windows NT ook
wel aanpassen met
FOR UNIPROCESSOR ONLY erbij!?

Voor de meeste multiprocessor toepassingen zit er zowiezo zit er te weinig cache op de Celeron. Wacht maar, binnenkort hebben we Pentium III met fullspeed interne cache.

Hij heb het over een Celeron 500 en laat het doosie van een Celeron 400 zien...

Een p3 met fullspeedcache is toch een xenon??

Die nieuwe P3 op .18 micron die zouden toch ook full speed cache draaien? Misschien bedoelt ie dat?
