Like usual, not everything was perfect. I'm probably going to be the only person not to give the PX-W2410TA perfect scores for its performance, but I was bothered by its high seek times and CD-RW read performance. When it comes down to it, this drive is not the best for reading CD-RW media. I've gotten spoiled now that I've gotten used to drives that can read CD-RW media as fast as pressed or CD-R media. Unfortunately this drive cannot do this.
While some of you might not like that I didn't give this drive top scores for its performance, I did for its features. Plextor has done an excellent job designing this drive and adding features that many might not really appreciate. The official UDMA 33 support is a very nice touch and cut off a small but noticeable chunk of CPU usage. My favorite addition was probably Plextor's PoweRec II technology. While I did spend a few hours swearing at the drive and some supposed 24x media, I did end up appreciating how I could pop in a CD and not worry if I was writing to it to fast or if I would not be able to read the CD in my other CD-ROM's.
