Software-update: Fi-Bench 4.0.0.37

AtleX heeft zijn programma waarmee HyperThread- en multiprocessorsystemen gebenchmarkt kunnen worden, Fi-Bench genaamd, bijgewerkt naar versie 4.0.0.37. Het programma voert een drietal berekeningen uit waar de benodigde tijd per berekening van wordt gemeten. In dit topic op het forum van Tweakers.net is meer informatie over en diverse resultaten van dit programma te vinden. Het changelog van deze release ziet er als volgt uit:

New features:

• Added "idle" priority class
• Added log functionality
• Added support for up to 12 threads with a maximum of 45 generations
• Added "Copy" button to add the log to the clipboard
• Added an easteregg
• Added the option to flash the button on the taskbar when the test is ready

Improvements:

• Complete rewrite of the test code, it's more reliable now
• Fi-Bench will now return to normal priority after the test
• Improved the speed of the User Interface on slow computers
• Completely new installer
• Complete Windows 2003 support
• Added custom hint/tooltip system, it's faster and less memory consuming

Bug fixes

• fixed the bug that causes Fi-Bench to stop responding when MSN 7 is running at the same time
• Fixed the memory leak
• Fixed the compatabilty bug with StyleXP themes
• Minor bug fixes

Unofficial/not supported

• There were some people reporting that Fi-Bench also runs on Windows 98/ME, 've tested it and it does run on my Windows 98 machine but it's not garanteed that it will run on yours.
• I've received a mail from one person with test results of a PC running the Windows Longhorn beta. As long as Longhorn remains beta there's is no support for that operating system.
