Ik gebruik gewoon de 3.7 en force de drivers gewoon om mijn 9700pro Herc. naar een 9800pro.
Je kunt dit met elke ati driver hier is de "gebruiksaanwijzing" voor wie intresse heeft.
I recomend not to use this hack because it can mess around with smartgart and thereŽs a much simpler way to do it.
Do this: extract the driver file to a folder using winzip - latest is the hotix wxp-w2k-radeon-7-90-ogl-hotfix.exe. Now go to device manager -> display adapters. YouŽll see 2 cards - 9700 pro and 9700 pro - secondary.
Now for each of them, right click, select update driver -> install from a list... -> DonŽt search. I will choose... -> Have disk. Point it to the *folder where you unzipped drivers*\driver\2KXP_INF\CX_09907.inf
Ok, now unselect "show compatible hardware" and there you go. Choose Radeon 9800 pro and Radeon 9800 pro - secondary, accordingly.
Windows will try to panic you saying that driver will not work with your hardware, just do it, reboot, and there you go. You have yourself a shiny new 9800 pro
I can confirm thereŽs a performance delta using the 9800 drivers from the same driver package, wich is kind of fishy, and may indicate ATi is interested in keeping the gap between the 9700 and the 9800. As 9700 will soon be a discontinued model, I wonder why all ATi customers that bought 9700Žs arenŽt intitled to use a driver that maximizes the card performance.

The first 2 results were with Cat 3.5 "9700 version" and the 2 last are after forcing 9800 drivers. ThatŽs almost a 10% increase...
het is in t engels maar werkt ok bij mij op een 2.53@2.92 ongeveer 300 punten meer bij 3dmark03
