Software-update: jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.146 beta

Op zijn website heeft de maker van jv16 PowerTools de betaversie 1.1.0.146 van het programma online gezet. Dit is wat er in deze versie verbeterd is:

- Fixed one big security hole which allowed any local user to gain all possible user rights.
- Fixed a huge bug in the file encrypter. If you tried to decrypt many files at the same time the program would only decrypt the first file and then corrupt all the other encrypted files.
- Added support for dragging and dropping files also to the main window.
- Fixed a bug that sometimes terminated the program.
- Added support for the RegEdit. You can now view some registry entries from the registry tool with right click > Open in RegEdit. This feature only works on some versions of windows, let me know if it doesn't work on your computer.
- Improved the more info tool's "Show entries" feature.
- Huge improvements, optimizations and bug fixes in the network features.[break]Deze versie is hier te downloaden. Bovendien heeft de submitter het bestand ook nog eens voor ons gemirrord op zijn mirror-pagina.

En nog steeds wordt het aanbevolen de active x en com scanner niet te gebruiken. Het staat elke keer op de jv16 site maar helaas nooit hier op tweakers. Weet iemand wanneer deze tool eens uit de betafase komt? De opvolgers vliegen ons om de oren maar een echte stabiele 1.1 versie is er vooralsnog nog niet. Nou ja, die big security hole is in ieder geval weer reden om te upgraden.

ok, i've checked the backups directory and all cleanings i have done in the past are still in. But i wont bother you with all these backups because all show cleanings done so far messed up norton ghost. So i decided to enclose the most recent backup and you will see for instance at the bottom of the list these lines:

dit progje verknalt op 1 of andere manier nog immer norton ghost. iedere keer als dit progje heb gebruikt (na verwijderen alle groene items) en ik wil systemworks opstarten, begint windows installer opnieuw ghost te configureren. Zo ook met systemworks 2003

Dit staat toch echt duidelijk op de site:
Don't use the ActiveX / COM scanner yet.
Die verwijdert namelijk standaard teveel, waardoor er bij sommige programma's problemen (kunnen) ontstaan. Hierover is al gesproken in de reacties op de vorige versies, zie:

jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.147 beta is uit!
What's new:
- Fixed the show entries feature for backups.
- Fixed some GUI problems with computers using small screen resolutions.
- Improved the Open in RegEdit so it now only is visible in those OSses which support it, WinME, 2000 and XP.
- Improved the registry tool's remove software thing to find more entries to remove.
- Improved the registry tool to show more information about programs which start with windows.
- Fixes many small GUI bugs.
- Improved the ignore list system so that you can now comment ignore list entries and also use multiple lists.
- Improved the settings system so that you won't now lose your custom settings every time you update the program.
- Improved the network features but they still need a lot of work.
